Job Title: Local GAAP Accountant

Location: Cobalt Business Park, Newcastle NE27

Rate: £19.86ph to £31.39Ph PAYE depending on applicants experience

Employment Type: Contract (11/12 Months)

Hours: 37.5 hrs per week

The Local Accounting and Direct Tax Team leverages accounting, analysis, communication and stewardship skills, and partners with external and internal contacts to produce and submit financial statements and tax returns that are compliant with the local regulations for each country.

Using local financial data, we submit statistical reporting to government bodies as required by each country. We apply specialised tax knowledge to create and submit the tax returns for each LE based on the local financial statements, providing audit support, and ensuring all direct tax payments are paid on time.

The candidate must have strong communication and customer service skills, as they will be working directly with auditors externally and a variety of internal contacts at different levels in the organisation.

Skills required for the role include:

• Knowledge of SAP and strong excel skills, ideally including Advanced Analysis.
• Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
• Strong operational discipline to meet tight external reporting deadlines.
• Strong accounting knowledge, which they can apply to complex accounting scenarios.
• Flexible approach and agility to be able to work on multiple pieces of work to meet specific reporting deadlines.

Specific Skills Required:

• Strong general accounting knowledge.
• SAP knowledge.
• Strong excel skills including Analysis for Office.
• Problem Solving.

Specific Qualifications Required:

• Professional accounting qualification e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA or CAT / AAT with relevant work
  experience.
