This is a specialist Mechanical Engineering Company which offers a multidisciplinary range of services from Fabrication (Mig, Tig, Stick Welding, Mild Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminium, Cast Iron) through to Machining (Milling, centre lathes, CNC On Site Work - Fitting, Repairs) and breakdowns (Pipework - Stainless/mild steel fabrication).

The Role:
- Set up and prepare the lathe for operation. selecting and mounting appropriate cutting tools, securing the workpiece in the chuck or between centres, and adjusting machine settings such as speed, feed rate, and depth of cut.
- interpret engineering drawings or blueprints to understand the specifications and tolerances required for the finished part. This involves determining the dimensions, material type, and surface finish requirements.
- Cut, shape, or prepare the material before loading it onto the lathe.
- using the lathe to turn cylindrical, conical, or contoured shapes on the workpiece. This may include facing, turning, boring, threading, grooving, or knurling operations.
- Experience as a Centre Lathe Turner Machinist
