Gi Pro are proud to be working in partnership with a well-known food manufacturing company, who are one of the most well-known manufacturers in the UK, the company in question are looking for a Maintenance manager.

Job Role:
Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager? You will be tasked with the responsibility of managing the various maintenance and utility departments in a large food organisation. This site is a highly automated FMCG environment. You will have had technical hands-on engineering experience working with a range of maintenance activities on site as well as managing a team over 10 people.

Typical Duties of a maintenance manager will involve:

Health and Safety Support:

    • Assist the Health and Safety (H&S) manager in promoting the site's H&S agenda.
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety legislation.

Engineering Health and Safety:

    • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager and Facilities Manager to ensure adherence to Engineering Health and Safety documentation and procedures across the site.
    • Keep all relevant documentation up to date.

Department Procedures and Audits:

    • Support the Engineering Manager in creating department procedures.
    • Conduct audits within the department to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
    • Facilitate both internal and external site audits (e.g., BRC, AIG, GMP).
    • Ensure teams follow internal processes to achieve positive audit results.

Maintenance Team Management:

    • Manage and develop the maintenance team.
    • Engage in recruitment, performance management, and succession planning.

Performance Issue Resolution:

    • Swiftly address performance issues related to equipment and the team.
    • Handle these issues correctly.

Prioritisation and KPIs:

    • Understand the critical importance of plant and equipment for business performance.
    • Prioritise and manage maintenance activities to meet agreed performance levels.
    • Collaborate with the Engineering Manager to set maintenance-related Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and take necessary actions to align performance with targets.


Desirable experience:

  • Recognised qualification in an engineering discipline or recognised apprenticeship in engineering, preferably multi-discipline.
  • People Management Experience.
  • Previous experience in Food Industry - ideally
  • Previous experience in FMCG - essential
  • Experience in using a CMMS system.
  • Sound technical knowledge.
