Mechanical Shift Engineer OR Electrical Shift Engineer
The Recruitment Co. are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Shift Engineer OR Electrical Shift Engineer to join our clients manufacturing team based in the Port talbot area.
Contract: Permanent
Salary: Up to £46,000 Inclusive of shift allowance
Working hours: Full time working a continental 323 shift pattern: days and nights (average 42 hour week)
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND Electrical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable) OR…
- HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. (desirable)
- Time served mechanical or electrical apprenticeship depending on the role (essential)
- Counterbalance forklift licence. (advantageous -not essential)
Experience:
Mechanical engineer:-
- Experience in FMCG
- Previous experience in a BRC Certified workplace. (desirable)
- Machining and Welding (desirable)
- Previous experience reacting to mechanical breakdowns
Electrical engineer:-
- Experience in FMCG
- PLC experience (Siemens preferable)
- Previous experience reacting to electrical breakdowns
Key Responsibilities:
- Planning and undertaking scheduled maintenance
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and efficiently
- Diagnose faults and repair equipment
- Upkeep of reports and records
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation.
Person Specification:
- Self-motivating & organised
- Good communication skills with the ability to communicate at all levels
- Attention to detail
- Be able to work both unsupervised and as part of a team
- Excellent analytical skills
- Computer literacy
