Ruby Group are recruiting an experienced client facing Network Engineer / Sales Engineer to join our Managed Service client supporting Presales / Solution Consultants and Sales, with a primary focus on Networks, SD-WAN, SASE and Cyber Security. Suitable Network Engineers / Sales Engineers will be responsible for bridging the gap between the clients front-end and back-end Engineering-led business functions, suitable Sales Network Engineers will have a great opportunity to develop and enhance their capabilities.

This is a Hybrid role: You will need to be in commutable distance to London head office, 2.5 days per week. (3 days one week, 2 days another)

Key responsibilities for this job:

  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor, working with Sales & Solution Consultants from an early stage of the opportunity cycle from both a technical & commercial perspective.
  • Able to quickly qualify new opportunities, both technically & commercially.
  • Able to effectively respond to technical, functional & commercial elements of RFIs/RFPs/BAFOs.
  • Able to architect and propose innovative validated designs which address the identified business & technical objectives for a prospect or customer.
  • Design and deliver detailed presentations both internally & externally that showcase your solution, pricing & benefits - either in person or over a video conferencing tool.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver detailed product demonstrations, either in person, as part of a presentation or over a video conferencing tool.
  • Develop and maintain accurate technical design documentation of our products and solutions.
  • Build close working relationships with Product Management, Solution Consultants, Sales & Engineering teams throughout all elements of your role.
  • Remain a point of contact, responsible for solution design, for Engineering, Delivery and support teams throughout an order lifecycle.
  • Actively take part in secondments to Solution Implementation & Support Services teams, to remain knowledgeable across the entire order lifecycle.
  • Remain knowledgeable in your allotted technology vertical as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), by continuing to develop your skills and study new market data.

Knowledge and experience required:

  • Seeking candidates with CCNA or Networking equivalent (Understanding Layer 2,3 ,4)
  • Demonstratable interest in the Managed IT / Telecommunications industry.
  • Working knowledge in common networking principles & protocols such as:
  • L2-L4 TCP/IP Stack
  • L2 & L3 Switching concepts
  • IP routing technologies such as OSPF & BGP
  • Redundancy protocols such as VRRP
  • Security principles such as Stateful Firewall, UTM, IPSec & SIEM
  • Wireless principles such as SSIDs, Encryption & Authentication
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; including the ability to translate technical jargon for a non-technical audience and vice-versa.
  • Excellent organisation & analytical skills with an eye for detail.
  • Excellent presentation skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills - both technical and social.
  • Thrive in a highly agile environment, managing multiple projects across multiple product suites simultaneously.
  • Ability to work both individually and in a team environment towards an objective.

Desirable knowledge and experience:

  • Familiarity with SD-WAN & SASE technologies.
  • Familiarity with Unified Communications & Collaboration technologies.
  • Knowledge of Private & Public Cloud architecture.
