As a Philanthropy Officer, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting philanthropy and grant-making programs while also contributing to income development. You'll collaborate closely with a dynamic team to ensure the efficient and successful functioning of philanthropic initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Grant and Support Giving Processing: Research, assess, and prepare reports for grant and rent subsidy applications. Provide guidance to voluntary and community groups to facilitate effective application processes.
  • Bursary Programme Management: Oversee the delivery of an impactful bursary programme in collaboration with Philanthropy Managers and partner organizations.
  • Income Generation Support: Assist the Philanthropy Team in prospect targeting and the development of gifts in kind to support our fundraising efforts.
  • Team Support: Provide database management, reporting, and campaign support. Assist in producing written reports and meeting minutes for various stakeholders.

If you are an exceptional communicator, adept at engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders including community representatives, donors, and members by articulating yourself well to build rapport and credibility with ease then you will fit right in! We'd love you to show off your philanthropic knowledge; familiarity with philanthropic activities and donor needs will be advantageous in this role. Good financial acumen particularly in assessing project budgets and viability, will be beneficial. A strong community awareness demostrating knowledge of the local voluntary sector and its impact on the community will enhance your effectiveness in this role, and of course local knowledge of Milton Keynes and its unique characteristics is super helpful.
