Project Manager

Location - Sandwich, Kent

Salary - Highly competitive depending on experience

Hours - 9 am - 5 pm, 9-day fortnight (every other Friday is a non-working day)

Can you demonstrate experience in a relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical, electro-optics, software, systems architecture?

Have you a proven track record in project management within that Engineering discipline?

Our client is a very well-established precision engineering manufacturer whose core products are supplied to more than 50 countries. They manufacture and supply an extensive range of cutting-edge precision technology directly to end users and offer a comprehensive capability as a prime supplier. They are currently looking for a Project Manager to join their expanding team working at their great manufacturing facility in Sandwich, Kent.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and accomplish goals and meet objectives; think and act correctly on your initiative.
  • Prepare cost and price build-up analysis using data in the company's MRP and cost models
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant internal stakeholders and ensuring technical feasibility
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure all aspects of each project are compatible
  • Liaise with operations for lead time estimates and production schedule updates for customers.
  • Coordinate internal business resources and third parties (vendors, supply chain, etc) for the
  • successful execution and delivery of multiple projects
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within budget and scope
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Measure performance using appropriate project management tools and techniques
  • Perform risk management to minimise potential risks
  • Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation
  • Delegate appropriate project tasks effectively based on team members' strengths, skill, knowledge and experience (SKE) levels

Skills and Experience

  • Must have demonstrable experience in a relevant Engineering discipline (mechanical, electro-optics, software, systems architecture, etc)
  • A good track record in project management within that Engineering discipline
  • Possess excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential for the role
  • Have solid organisational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) / PRINCE II certification is highly desirable
  • Budget Management & Cost Control experience
  • Risk Management & Mitigation experience in a similar role
  • Leadership of interdisciplinary Project Teams
  • Negotiation & Critical thinking skills
  • Must have Problem Solving & Analytical Skills
