Teaching Assistant - SEND

Location: Warrington, Merseyside, UK

Are you a passionate individual who wants to make a positive impact on the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? Are you dedicated to helping these children reach their full potential? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!

We are currently seeking a dedicated L2 or L3 Teaching Assistant to work in a nursery in Warrington. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with various special educational needs, as you will be working with children with additional needs, including those with complex disabilities. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that meets the individual needs of each child.

Responsibilities:

  • Support students in their academic and personal development, providing one-to-one assistance and working with small groups.
  • Assist in planning and delivering lessons, ensuring that students are engaged and actively participating.
  • Monitor student progress and provide feedback to the teacher, contributing to the evaluation of individual education plans.
  • Foster a safe and nurturing environment, promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.
  • Collaborate effectively with the teacher and other staff members, contributing to a cohesive team approach.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or similar role is preferred.
  • Qualified to either Teaching Assistant level 2 or level 3 in Early Years
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Patient, empathetic, and dedicated to helping others.
  • Genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs and disabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to a supportive and inclusive school environment.
