Main Purpose

Working as a key member of the Recruitment team currently providing support to c3000 employees at 127+ sites across the UK. MKM is one of the fastest growing independent Builders Merchants in the UK. With its unique business model which sees Branch Directors part owning their branches, this results in a highly empowered culture with branches outperforming their competitors by some way. The business is growing rapidly with 15+ new branch openings planned each year from 2021 onwards. Recruitment in this context needs to be supportive, agile and extremely commercially focussed.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Posting jobs on various job boards/ ATS
  • Removing jobs from job boards and recording how they were filled
  • Removing jobs from the website and the vacancy spreadsheet/ or ATS
  • Calling applicants for additional information as and when requested e.g.- salary expectations, arranging interviews
  • Checking daily the number of applications, pausing jobs and contacting branches to offer assistance
  • Regularly contacting branches for updates on roles and to see if can offer support
  • Talking branch directors through LinkedIn searches
  • Proactively contacting people for roles
  • Setting up LinkedIn searches
  • Checking daily LinkedIn recommendations for roles
  • Respond to messages on LinkedIn searches and advising branches to make calls
  • Sending job descriptions to branch directors as required and discussing the requirements of their roles
  • Sending branch directors wording/ images for them to advertise on social media
  • Arranging all LinkedIn job adverts - weekly
  • Consulting with Recruitment and Resource Specialist for any roles that need a paid advertising campaign
  • Providing branch directors advice on any of their recruitment needs and discussing the different recruitment options suitable for their needs.
  • Providing interview questions for branch directors if required
  • Putting job adverts together
  • Extending the expiry dates of jobs advertised on all job boards etc
  • Checking the number of applications and current live jobs daily
  • Recording of placement information
  • Make sure all rejection emails are sent for all jobs
  • Ensuring all vacancies across all 127 branches are approved before advertising
  • This role will be a structured apprenticeship which will require some academic study

KPI’s

  • All job adverts must be live the same day they are approved/ received
  • Rejection emails should be sent to all applicants within 24 hours of being notified.
  • Ensuring the vacancy spreadsheet/ Indeed and the website all correlate with the ATS

Skills, Knowledge and Experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills both over the phone and face to face
  • Attention to detail
  • Computer literacy, including basic Excel
  • Have the ability and confidence to deal with people at all levels professionally
  • A desire to develop within the recruitment sector
  • Ability to work at pace with accuracy in a busy department
