Merrifield Consultants are working with a membership body to find a Relationship Executive. We are looking for someone with experience in development within a membership/ charity background. We are looking for an individual with excellent account management and communication skills, someone who will proactively steward existing relationships with a portfolio of corporate supporters whilst identifying opportunities to develop new partnerships.

Role: Relationship Development Executive

Reports to: Corporate Partnerships Manager

Hours: 9-5

Contract: Six months initially (with a possible longer term position available)

Salary: £31,000

Location: Central London

Start: ASAP

Job responsibilities:

  • Act as a key point of contact for corporate partners, proactively developing and maintaining relationships with existing supporters and potential funders.
  • Research, build and maintain a pipeline of corporate prospects for a range of exciting sponsorship and programme funding opportunities.
  • Undertake screening of potential corporate partners on behalf of the team.
  • Identify fundraising opportunities for corporate supporters.
  • Develop and contribute towards the delivery of our exciting corporate events programme.
  • Build and manage targeted guest lists, event logistics and any other event administration as required to support the events programme.
  • Manage a prospect pipeline and effectively communicate with companies to secure donations.
  • Develop and produce a range of communications materials, using persuasive copy to engage and excite key stakeholders, working with the Design team and other colleagues to develop relevant content, collating and recording responses and feedback. Including overseeing the production and distribution of a regular e-newsletter to corporate supporters.
  • Effectively maintain the departmental database, updating records, cleaning data, managing mail merges, events lists and the electronic and photographic filing systems, maintaining comprehensive and retrievable files.
  • Provide administrative support for corporate partnerships including taking and circulating meeting minutes, financial record keeping, collating and maintaining information to support the evaluation and analysis of funding partnerships and responding to internal and external enquiries and requests for information.
  • Build excellent relationships with colleagues to support with the delivery of the Fundraising & Development team's strategy and objectives.

Skills:

  • Computer literate with a good working knowledge of MS Office.
  • Working knowledge of fundraising strategy and practice.
  • An understanding of how to research and approach potential prospects, and previous experience of developing funding proposals.
  • Good database management skills and working knowledge of at least one relevant database solution.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and networking skills. Post holder must present themselves well in a range of situations, including one-to-one meetings with funders and stakeholders, in written proposals and promotional copy writing.
  • Excellent relationship and partnership management skills, with experience of building and maintaining relationships with a range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent administrative, planning and organisational skills, with previous experience of supporting across a team.
  • Excellent attention to detail, record keeping and editing and proofreading skills.
  • Experience of event management and project delivery in a similar environment.
  • Previous experience of working in a Fundraising team and experience of contributing to the development of fundraising strategy.
