Royal Armouries Museum and New Dock Hall is a purpose-built events venue hosting events from 10 – 2500 people.

This role will suit a Sales Assistant from a similar style hospitality business, who can come in and hit the ground running!

  • Delivering the overall Christmas sales strategy for the venue.
  • Taking responsibility for the museum events for both internal bookings and external key partner and development events.
  • Conducting reactive sales activities including responding to telephone and e-mail enquiries
  • Proactively selling the facilities by various techniques and always aiming to meet customer needs and exceed customer expectations. 
  • To consistently ensure the highest standards of accurate and timely customer, staff and management information.
  • To ensure high level of conversion of bookings to achieve and exceed targets set.
  •  Work with event planners effectively to provide a seamless handover for final event details. 
  • Coordinating conference and events bookings for the venue for short lead bookings

The successful Sales Assistant will undertake the following duties:

  • Promptly respond to incoming Christmas and sales enquiries, drive conversion rate, arrange site visits and contract bookings
  • Nurture client relationships to maximise all upselling and sales opportunities
  • Network with internal and external stakeholders
  • Proactive selling of the venue 

Our ideal Sales Assistant will:

  • Will have Sales or event planning experience within the UK conference and events industry
  • Be able to work on own initiative and be a confident decision maker
  • Will have a generally outgoing personality and enjoy social interaction
  • Able to communicate effectively with potential customers, with employees from all parts of the company and able to present a highly professional image when representing the Company
  • Be self-motivated and can maintain focus in the achievement of sales targets
  • Will demonstrate a thorough approach to work
  • Be competent in Microsoft Office and have a good understanding of database management
  • Have excellent communication skills, verbally both on the phone and in person, and written
  • Will be an effective team worker as a key member of the central sales team 
  • Ability to inspire customer trust and confidence
  • Ability to deal effectively with, and gain support of, internal colleagues
  • Have a passion for events and food 
  • Act as an excellent ambassador for RA Venues  
  • Be able to think fast and to deliver solutions to customer requirements

  • Delphi/ Sales Force experience
