School Cook Required at one of our schools in Penzance - Cornwall - TR18

Days: Monday to Friday - 30 hours per week (term time only)

Hours:  8:30am till 2:30pm

This opportunity for initially temporary, but when starting this role, you stand a strong chance of securing the long term position at the school

Duties:

  • Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including appetizers, entrees, and desserts
  • The cook will prepare breakfast (toast/crumpets and drinks) Mid-morning snacks (wraps or sandwiches, students order on arrival)  Finally then a hot lunch.
  • Ensure that all food is prepared in accordance with health and safety regulations
  • Monitor food inventory and order supplies as needed
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure efficient and timely service
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area

What we are looking for:

  • Experience of working in a catering/ busy kitchen environment and complying with health and safety standards.
  • Experience working as part of a team and using your own initiative.
  • Effective customer service skills and being able to work to high standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Willingness to undertake training and professional development.

Requirements

  • To have or be willing to obtain a DBS certificate on the update service.
  • Provide a minimum of two references to cover the last 24 months of employment.
  • Right to work in the UK.
