Position Overview:

As a Science Technician, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the science department by preparing materials, maintaining equipment, and ensuring the smooth running of practical lessons. Your contribution will directly impact the quality of education our students receive, helping to ignite their curiosity and understanding of the world around them.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up equipment and materials for practical science experiments across various disciplines.
  • Maintain laboratory facilities and equipment, ensuring they are clean, safe, and in good working order.
  • Assist teachers during practical lessons, providing technical support and troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies as needed to support the science curriculum.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and procedures to create a secure learning environment for students and staff.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Science Technician or similar role within an educational setting.
  • Strong organisational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and communicate effectively with colleagues.
  • A passion for science and a commitment to fostering student learning and achievement.
