A Specialist SEND school in Hillingdon are looking for a creative and enthusiastic SEND Teacher to join their school on an ongoing contract basis.

The Role

In this role you will teaching in a mixed age class of 6 pupils based in Key stage 3. Students in the class have Severe Learning Disabilities (SLD) with some sensory needs and are taught a curriculum designed to meet their learning and all-round development needs. You will be supported by a team of experienced professionals and support assistants across the school to deliver highly personalised teaching and learning, therapy programmes and interventions. You will have support from senior leadership and access to regular CPD training to support you to develop your practice with complex learners.

The school are looking for a SEND Teacher with the following:

  • Experience of SLD / complex needs
  • A creative and caring approach
  • Confident working in of a large inter-disciplinary team alongside medical and therapy staff

The school

This specialist SEND school is split across two sites and supports pupils from 11 – 19 years old with severe learning disabilities (SLD), profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD) and autistic spectrum disorders (ASD).  The school focusses on providing learning experiences that will develop the whole child / young person to be as independent as possible, gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for adulthood and an enriching life. The school is part of a larger specialist SEND academy trust and offers excellent long-term career opportunities within SEND.  There is a welcoming staff team in place and this is a fantastic opportunity to work with inspiring colleagues and amazing children.
