Classroom Support are excited to be working with a Primary school in Camden who are looking to recruit a specialist 1:1 SEN Teaching Assistant to start in immediately and work there long term into next academic year on a long-term supply basis.
Navigating the Special Educational Needs (SEN) provision environment can indeed pose its challenges, particularly when managing children with challenging behaviours. These difficulties may range from communication barriers to addressing specific needs and behaviours unique to each child. However, despite these challenges, working within SEN provision can be incredibly rewarding.
The SEN Teaching Assistant position will start on a long-term temporary basis with the option of going permanent after a set number of weeks working with the school through Classroom Support.
It is essential that you have some of the the below experience:
- Experience of supporting children that at times exhibit challenging behaviour
- A keen understanding of being able to create bonds with pupils that struggle to engage
- Worked within a Mainstream or SEN school setting previously is advantageous
- Being of a firm nature when necessary but kind and caring as a person
- Experience supporting children with ASD or ADHD.
The rate of pay is £85+ per day for the right candidates. Temp to perm options after 12 academic weeks working through Classroom Support.
You must be able to commit to the working hours of 8.30am - 3.30pm. Monday to Friday.
Have already, or be willing to pay for a DBS with a children's barred check, that is on the update service.
No recent criminal convictions/cautions.
