£90 - £110 a day

Are you an experienced dedicated SEN teaching assistant looking for a new role? If so, we want to hear from you.

Teach Plus are currently working with a mainstream primary school in Hayes that is a short walk to the closest station and a bus that stops directly outside the school.

This school is a three entry form school, which values every single pupil and believes every child matters. They value all children for their different strengths and qualities and use this to ensure they can achieve.

The school provides many opportunities for extracurricular activities such as art, baking and chess and the pupils all enjoy taking part in competitions and events with other schools which includes sport tournaments.

In February 2023, the school received a good Ofsted report, leaders and staff nurture trusting, professional relationships with pupils. Staff benefit greatly from the extensive training and development programme in place to improve their practice. There is effective teamwork and interesting learning activities ensure that children make good progress in all areas of learning.

As an SEN teaching assistant will need to be supporting pupils in a reception class in small groups or on a one to one basis. You will assist the class teacher with observations, behaviour management and create a positive learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant's need to be compassionate and dedicated to pupils learning. You will need to have the ability to remain calm under pressure and work well as part of team.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be required to:

  • Support pupils within reception
  • Strong behaviour management
  • Understand and follow EHCP plans
  • Passionate to support pupils to achieve to their full potential
  • Support on a one to one basis or within small groups
  • Attend staff meetings to improve skills and knowledge
  • Creating resources needed for lessons
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure

The ideal candidate for an SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

  • Must have 2 or more years of experience supporting with SEN - ASD and SEMH
  • DBS on the update service - (Must be child workforce)
  • PECS and Makaton trained
  • Experience within SEN schools
  • Level 3 childcare qualification
