ASEND supports SEND pupils and continues their learning while they cannot access school or don’t have a school place. We are looking for a supportive and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant who can help make a positive impact on a 15-year-old pupil with medical needs Ruislip to continue her education while she is waiting for a new school.

What ASEND Tuition Is

We are looking for wonderful Teaching Assistants to support children and young people with SEND in Hillingdon. We support pupils with SEND who may not be attending school for a number of reasons including Mental Health issues, or lack of a suitable school place. We aim to prepare them for a return to mainstream or special school. Our Teaching Assistants also work within schools supporting pupils who need that tailored support.

We support pupils of all ages face-to-face within school times, and in a range of settings including homes, schools, community centres and out in the community. Our work is completely pupil-focused and can target developing early learning, following an academic curriculum, providing emotional support or developing life skills. We need a wide range of people to support our pupils to meet their specific needs and ensure good progress. We work very hard to match each person with pupils and roles who can most benefit from their skills and expertise.

About The Pupil and role

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join an experienced tutor in delivering her lessons. Our pupil is pre-verbal but communicates through reaching and eye pointing and has a good sense of humour. She enjoys music, food, being outside, being pampered, and exploring stimulating objects. Interacting with adults and having fun with play are things she loves and easily expresses her enjoyment. One of the goals of her education is to develop her ability to better communicate with spoken language, signs and visuals. There is a wide team of professionals that work together to provide her with the best possible support and we are looking for the right person to join the team.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have experience supporting pupils with medical needs and will be able to contribute to a multisensory curriculum and the use of signing and visuals. If you are passionate about helping this pupil reach their full potential and creating engaging learning experiences, we want to hear from you.

There may be an element of personal and intimate care with this role for this reason we encourage women to apply to maintain our pupil’s dignity.
