SEND Teaching Assistant - Skelmersdale - Full Time

Tradewind Recruitment are working with a SEND High School in Skelmersdale to recruit passionate and driven SEND Teaching Assistants who are willing to support children with additional needs.

The school supports children aged 11-16 years old with behavioural, emotional and social difficulties. Some of the children also have a diagnosis of ASD. All children have an Education and Health Care Plan in place.

The school prioritises passion and enthusiasm over experience. They do not require someone from an educational background. Therefore, if you are looking to make a career change, this could be the perfect entrance into the education sector you could be looking for!

Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively with the class teacher to ensure all children have equal access to education.
  • Support children on a 1:1 or small group basis.
  • Communicate with staff, parents and external agencies.
  • Record and assess childrens progress in line with their EHCP.
  • Contribute to creating an inclusive environment to allow all children to thrive.

Requirements:

  • A passion for working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.
  • A CV that covers your educational and employment history.
  • An enhanced DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Legal right to work in the UK.
