Adecco Public Sector are proud to be working in partnership with a customer centric and proactive utilities organisation to recruit a Senior Public Affairs Manager on a permanent basis.

Hybrid working available (3 days in the office per week)

Based in West Sussex

Salary: circa £70,000k

As a senior member of the public affairs team, you will be instrumental in the development and delivery of the public affairs strategy to influence key policymakers and political stakeholders, communicating the company's progress and helping to build and defend its reputation as transparent customer-focused business wholly committed to its turnaround and associated internal cultural change.

The successful candidate will engage with key parties in Westminster and Whitehall to land consistent and engaging messaging that is aligned to stakeholder priorities and strengthens the organisation's corporate reputation.

You will have a high degree of visibility and frequent interaction with the executive team, guiding their proactive and reactive engagement with MPs, ministers, opposition parties, policymakers, government officials, trade bodies, think tanks and political influencers.

This is a truly exciting opportunity to enhance the organisation's reputation with stakeholders, navigating a dynamic political landscape, and positioning the company well in a sector which is at the centre of political, public, media and activist scrutiny.

Candidate Requirements

  • Demonstrable experience in managing public affairs at national and regional level.
  • Experience in delivering integrated communications plans to foster positive stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of UK Government, regulatory and political landscape.
  • Previous experience of working in utilities (water, energy, electricity) or another regulated sector.
  • Highly organised with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Crisis management experience.
