Senior Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer
Salary: £90,000 - £110,000
Location - UK (Remote Working)

Our Award-winning client a global provider of enterprise storage platforms and solutions is seeking an Senior Tier 3 Technical Support Engineer to be based in the UK covering London.
The company’s portfolio has been named a Leader for five consecutive years in primary storage, as well as numerous other awards from the storage analyst and storage press community.

The position requires a willingness to work one saturday per month.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for the most complex field issues.
  • Provide proactive recommendations customers for improving their use of company storage solutions and help maximise their satisfaction.
  • Diagnose technical field issues down to the root cause.
  • Represent the company in a professional manner to customers and partners.
  • Actively contribute to the the configuration, layout and management of company products.
  • Work directly with development teams for problem resolution.
  • Provide assistance to the technical teams in the development of custom solutions and implementation preparation.

Key Requirements:

  • Linux System Administration: Advanced knowledge of installation and administration.
  • Troubleshoot and upgrade of Linux systems - MUST.
  • TCP/IP networking knowledge.
  • Knowledge in SAN and NAS storage.
  • Scripting experience in one or more languages (bash, Python, etc.)
  • Strong technical knowledge of VMware virtualisation technologies - an advantage.
  • Experience with containers/dockers and related technologies - an advantage.
  • VCE Certification - an advantage.
  • Administration level backup expertise - an advantage.
  • Previous experience as a Tier 3/4 Support - an advantage.
  • Ability to effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organisation and customer base.
  • Security clearance - an advantage.

Behavioural Requirements:

  • Ability to work collaboratively with employees within the sales function and across functions including Marketing, Sales Operations, System Engineering and Product Development.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a geographically-distributed team.
  • Excellent time management.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills including presentation skills.
  • Must possess and exhibit knowledge of file-based storage systems.
