Technical Buyer
Position: Technical Buyer
Daily duties and responsibilities/summary of role: We are currently looking for an experienced technical buyer to join our team.
Bowyer Engineering Ltd was established over 70 years ago and specialise in the manufacture of high precision, high quality components suppled direct to various sectors including Aerospace, automotive, oil and gas.
The right candidate will be comfortable purchasing material, components, and sub-contract processes in line with company procedures and KPI’s. You will ensure that all customer requirements are accurately flowed down to suppliers. Monitor outstanding purchase orders and expedite delivery.
Obtain competitive quotes for goods and services based on identified project requirements.
Manage supplier performance, monitoring and develop relationships to ensure that business requirements are met, including T&C’s and NDA’s.
Skills and qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have familiar manufacturing background and experience as a technical buyer and will also have the:
- Ability to read engineering drawings
- Understanding of raw materials specifications
- Knowledge of special processes
- Microsoft office skills
- Knowledge of aerospace specifications such as AS9100, RR 9000 SABRe etc. would be a distinct advantage
- Syspro ERP skills would be an advantage.
Essential Requirements:
· Previous experience in a similar role.
· Enthusiastic approach.
· Be able to work without close supervision.
· Energetic and dynamic individual with "can do" attitude.
· Punctual, reliable, and trustworthy.

Duration: Permanent with a 3-month probation period.
Contracted Hours: 8am-5pm Monday - Thursday and 8am -1pm Friday
