I have a new opportunity for an experienced technical or design manager to join a reputable housing business who build homes and communities across Cornwall.

A flexible employer who offer home working, you will spend time in the office and at home, and attend consultant meetings and site as and when required, in a desirable office location.

Reporting to the head of department you will take the lead on the technical design process for new projects. Work closely with the development and commercial teams. Oversee and manage external consultants such as architects and engineers. Review structural architectural, civils, highways information and MEPH.

Oversee the project from pre-acquisition through to hand over and completion, within budget, health and safety and too a high quality standard. Manage and review the development of detailed project design, including all section agreements and statutory approval, contract design, compliance, and quality.

Skills and attributes needed:
  • Proven background in housing development in a similar role
  • Experience in the full design process from pre-acquisition to completion
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle of projects
  • Accustomed to managing and selection external consultants
  • Strong building regulation experience
  • Good understanding of the planning process
  • Strong Technical design review experience
  • Team player
  • Commercial awareness
  • Degree within construction, engineering or architectural would be desired
  • Candidates who have experience within civil engineering are encourage to apply!


I would also like to hear from more junior candidates who might not be a technical manager just yet and at a coordinator level, duties and salary would be reflective of this.
