Trade Surveillance SME

Summary

My high-profile utilities client is looking for a Trade Surveillance SME to join their team Based at their London offices (3 days a week on site) on an initial 6-month contract with chance of extensions.

We are looking for a senior Trade surveillance SME to come in and support the Head of Surveillance to design and implement a robust monitoring and surveillance programme including:

• Re-designing and documenting the monitoring and surveillance framework with a clear governance and escalation process.
• Develop a Market Abuse Risk Assessment (MARA) methodology and ensure that all findings from the current MARA are properly incorporated into the revised framework.
• Review and make enhancements to existing monitoring and surveillance processes.
• Adhoc projects and tasks requiring monitoring and surveillance SME support.

Person Specification

• 10+ years' experience within commodities industry, including physical commodities.
• Desirable for individual to have had exposure to energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of MAR and REMIT, plus EMIR and/ or MIFID2
• Understanding of reliance on exemptions from respective regulations and applicability across different jurisdictions. Specifically, UK & EU.
• Solid understanding of typologies and market abuse/ manipulation risks applicable to a physical and financial energy trading firm is critical.
