About the role

Here at Kerry, we are currently recruiting for a full time, permanent Transport manager – Planning Services Europe based in Mansfield, UK

As Transport planning manager for Europe you will be responsible for overseeing our Centralised Transport Planning operations teams located in the UK and Poland

This is a fantastic opportunity for a candidate looking to join a Global entity offering exposure across multiple functions and countries.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate that they are a methodical worker, with attention to detail, diligent and organized and has previously managed teams.

This role is critical to establishing and maintaining close rapport with internal and external stakeholders. You will be working closely with our key business stakeholders across supply chain and other functions so you must be able to demonstrate confident and concise communication skills.

What will I be doing?

• Day to day management of the operational transportation planning teams who manage and plan Transport for multiple manufacturing sites across the European Region

• Working closely with our freight partners ensuring that they maintain the service levels agreed with Kerry and continue to drive excellence from our carrier base to ensure we maintain high service levels to our customers

• Work closely with our export team and veterinary inspectors to ensure the necessary documentation is in place for export of our products

• Engage with cross functional parties within the supply chain operation to support customer queries, exceptions, day to day operational challenges that may arise

• Work closely with the wider Logistics, Distribution and International Trade team on identifying efficiencies, improvements and cost benefits to the function

• Responsible for standardising ways of working across our centralised transport planning hubs and working close with the teams to continue to build knowledge of the processes within the function

• Responsible for tracking and overseeing freight management at month end and ensuring freight payables are closed out monthly and maintain a strong working relationship with supply chain finance

• Support non centralised sites in ad hoc queries/ways of working to ensure we are all adapting the one Kerry way of working approach across our organisation.

Wht do I need in order to be successful?

• We welcome applicants from diverse backgrounds including those with a formal degree (Supply Chain, Business, Project Management, or related field) or without a formal degree, who have relevant experience in a similar role.

• Previous experience in managing a team of people located in different countries

• Experience in dealing with and managing external freight partners and maintaining a good relationship

• Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in a food & beverage environment would be advantageous.

• Knowledge of food production supply chain

• Knowledge of SAP – Logistics and Transport execution

• Demonstrable evidence of skills, attributes & values as outlined within the job description.

• Basic business financial understanding.

• 20-30% of the role may require travel to other Kerry facilities across Europe
