UPS Service Engineer

  • Location: London and surrounding areas
  • Salary: £35K - £41K per annum + 5% bonus of basic salary

Overtime Rates:

  • Weekdays between 7am - 8.30am & 5pm - Midnight: x 1.33
  • Weekdays between Midnight and 7am: x 1.50
  • Weekends and Public/Bank Holidays between Midnight and Midnight: x 2

Job Purpose: The Service Engineer will be responsible for the commissioning of new products, basic training for customers, and servicing and maintenance of existing deployed assets. The role involves troubleshooting and repair of installed products, with on-call responsibilities after completing probation.

Key Job Responsibilities/Activities

*Successful candidate must have UPS Experience



1. Commissioning of New Products:

  • Apply installation and commissioning procedures on-site.
  • Test according to customer requirements following the prescribed method statement.
  • Customise settings of UPS installations according to the environment.
  • Update CIMSA and CIMeTECH databases.

2. Servicing & Troubleshooting of Installed Products

  • Troubleshoot all installed company equipment, diagnose installations.
  • Execute curative maintenance operations.
  • Diagnose installations and provide feedback on recurrent problems to Technical Operational Support (TOS).
  • Servicing: Execute preventive maintenance operations as per company specifications (replacement of usable components).

3. Customer and Distributor Training

  • Conduct training sessions for customers and distributors.
  • Provide basic information on the daily use of the machine to customers.
  • Liaise with customers to grow sustainable relationships.
  • Increase the technical level of distributors through training.
  • Perform additional tasks as required in line with department/company strategic goals.
