Are you passionate about supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and making a positive difference in their lives? Long Term Teachers is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for one of the special educational needs school we work closely with in Exeter.

The school works with children aged from 3-19 who all have an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). It is very proud to have a 'Good’ Ofsted rating and is supportive of all pupils and staff.

Position:SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Exeter, Devon
Contract: Full-time

Requirements:

  • Experience working with students with SEN
  • Understanding of different SEN needs and strategies for support
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing approach
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, SENCO, and other support staff

Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEN
  • Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour plans
  • Support students with their academic, social, and emotional development
  • Help create a safe, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Collaborate with teachers and other professionals to meet the individual needs of students
