*Full UK Driving Licence will be required for site travel
We're in search of a Senior IT Systems Engineer to join our nationally recognised client and play a pivotal role in maintaining their digital ecosystem. If you're passionate about keeping systems running smoothly and love diving into technical challenges, this role is for you!
Essential Qualifications:
- Demonstrate at least two years of hands-on experience in IT support roles, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and development.
- Proficiency in diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, and network issues.
- Solid understanding of Windows and Linux operating systems, as well as server administration.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
- Strong scripting skills, with the ability to automate routine tasks using PowerShell, Bash, or similar languages.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain IT systems, including hardware, software, and networking components.
- Respond promptly to IT support requests, resolving technical issues and minimising downtime.
- Collaborate with other IT professionals and departments to implement new technologies and improve existing systems.
- Perform regular system maintenance tasks, including software updates, patches, and backups.
- Document IT processes, procedures, and configurations to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
- Assist in planning and executing IT projects, from inception to completion.
- Provide guidance and mentorship to junior members of the IT team.
- Step into the role of the IT Manager when needed, providing expert technical support and guidance to the team.
- Support IT requirements at both Head Office and regional sites, working closely with external IT support firms and internal IT personnel.
- Play a pivotal role in software transition within the Sales departments, offering additional support, coaching, data management, and comprehensive reporting.
- Take charge of fault finding and provide first and second line support for network, printer, desktop, and laptop issues.
- Mentor and oversee the IT Technician, ensuring their professional growth and development.
- Collaborate with third-party IT service providers and software vendors to address technical challenges and optimize IT infrastructure.
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance internal workflows and streamline processes through innovative solutions.
